CAMP NOMAD

Take Bigger Steps. Leave Smaller Footprints.

ECO-FRIENDLY

From tents to traditional mudhouses, from natural farming to organic cafe products, from rainwater harvesting to biodegradable soaps and cleaners, from composting to hiring a geological consultant before building, we work hard to minimise our impact on nature.

ACCESSIBLE

Our campsite is located on a drive-in metalled road, only 15 km away from Shimla, and all common areas are fully accessible by ramps. Our cafe and common washrooms are fully wheelchair accessible. We are also building wheelchair-friendly mudhouses, which will be ready for guests starting October 2024

DESIGNED FOR COMMUNITY

Our common areas are designed for community and conversation. We have an open air Baithak with incredible valley views -- perfect for a workshop session or retreat space-- and every evening, the wood fire in our cafe invites residents to gather over a meal or a chat.  Nooks for daydreaming and for conversation are spread throughout our campsite.

SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE

Whether you want to lie in a hammock with a book from our library, go hiking or paragliding, have a picnic in the deodar forest, interact with our neighbours in the village, or savour traditional Himachali food and folk music, we have something for everyone to do. Ask us in advance so we can help plan your trip!

Camp Nomad is proud to host the Serai Residency, a 3 week, fully-funded retreat for artists, writers, educators, community workers, and peace builders from across the Global South.

Applications open until 5 September, 2024
